Notre Dame Hoops Hit Eddy Street
Irish Jam presented by Under Armour
Notre Dame will celebrate the upcoming 2025-26 college basketball season on Friday, Oct. 3 at Eddy Street Commons, when the Fighting Irish men’s and women’s programs host the "Irish Jam,” an inaugural outdoor community event open and free to the public.
The University will set up an outdoor half-court basketball arena in the middle of Eddy Street Commons, which is south of campus across Angela Blvd from St. André Way. From noon to 4 p.m., the teams will host community programs, including mini basketball tournaments.
At 6 p.m., coaches Niele Ivey and Micah Shrewsberry will address the crowd and introduce their teams.
Next, two captains, previously selected by a fan vote, will draft co-ed teams comprised of Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball players. The dualing squads will then compete in a trio of “All-Star-esque” competitions: a 3-point contest, a skills challenge and a shooting stars challenge.
The “Irish Jam” is a first-come, first-served, standing-room-only event.
The University advises fans to park in Joyce and Stadium lots or other available on-campus locations. The Eddy Street Commons parking garage will also be available from the Burns Avenue and Napoleon Street entrances.
