Exciting Expansion at Eddy Street Commons at Notre Dame

Eddy Street Commons is currently undergoing an incredible Phase II expansion that will enhance the current experience for South Bend residents, students, and visitors alike. While this major undertaking may involve some temporary inconvenience, Kite Realty Group is committed to making the development process as smooth as possible for everyone. The project is slated for full completion by Summer 2020. We look forward to bringing new offerings to the community! 

A Vast Expansion Featuring Amenities for Everyone

The Eddy Street Commons at Notre Dame Phase II expansion will include over 530,000 total square feet of new offerings for the communities of South Bend and Notre Dame. Features include:

  • A new Embassy Suites Hotel to open Fall 2018

  • 8,500 square feet of retail space and 20,000 square feet of live/work space

  • New residential options, including detached single-family homes, rowhouses, and 400+ apartments

  • Below-ground parking garages for apartment residents on the west side of Eddy

  • A brand-new 13,000 square foot Robinson Center

  • Two urban parks and a dog park

Important Road Closure Information

Beginning in March 2018, Eddy Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Napoleon Boulevard and Howard Street, and St. Vincent Street will be closed between Frances Street and Georgiana Street. The map above indicates alternative routes around the construction zone.  Note that Eddy Street will remain open between Napoleon Boulevard and Angela Boulevard throughout the construction period, and there will be full access to all of the businesses and residences in Phase I of Eddy Street Commons.

St. Vincent Street will reopen between Eddy Street and Georgiana in August 2019 in order to serve the apartment buildings east of Eddy. Eddy Street will reopen to pedestrians in August of 2019 and to vehicular traffic in November 2019. After Eddy Street is fully reopened to vehicular traffic, the connection between St. Vincent Street and Georgiana will be permanently closed. Please pardon the inconvenience while we work to bring exciting new options to our incredible community.
